Happy Halloween

We had our church Halloween party yesterday.  The Sidekick dressed up as Sheriff Woody.  (He LOVES Toy Story.  I have three different videos loaded on the Ipod for him but he chooses to watch Toy Story 2 over and over on it.  He also jumps from the ottoman to the couch and says, "To Infinity and Beyond")

Even with his love for Toy Story, he wasn't big on wearing this simple costume and didn't want to dress like Woody, until I told him if he did, he'd get candy.  Oh Bribery--the great motivator.  He picked up on the whole trick-or-treating thing pretty quickly. It was fun to watch.

I've been asking around and it doesn't seem that people here trick or treat (it is an American holiday after all) nor does it seem like they have a big celebration for day of the dead.  I'd love to join in local festivities for it.  I have a couple more days to figure that out.

PS - It's the day after the party, and he's seem to forgotten what happened yesterday.  Guess I will be levying the parent tax on his candy and helping him eat some of it.  Don't worry, I'll save some for him.  ;-)

What a cute little guy! He makes a cute Woody. I think every kid loves Toy Story.

In my neighborhood in Leon, they would trick-or-treat for like a week! They would get all dressed up starting the 31st, and go forever! And they got super insistent at the door that you give them $ if you didnt have candy. Kind of scary! I stopped opening the door that whole week! In Mexico City I think there are too many apartment buildings to deal with it, although I did see some last year.
