Pure Joy

We went to a small amusement park.  The Sidekick met the mini-bumper cars and it was love at first site.  Since school has started it was pretty empty there and so he rode it 5 times in a row.  (The last time he was the only kid on it and he just drove around in circles and into the wall etc.  And yet he STILL wanted to stay in it.)

He didn't want to stop except we were there with other people and his little friend was over it and more than ready to more on to a new ride.

This amusement park is decent except sometimes it reminds me of the place they send old rides to die. It's run differently than amusement parks in the US.  For example,

1) They stamp the inside of your wrist as you enter the park.  So what does a kid do when a stranger has been holding on to him?  He immediately pulls his arm back into his body which wipes the colored stamp on his wrist across his shirt.  (Not fun to get out of his shirt.)

This is why we mostly use wristbands in the US-- or at least stamp the back of people's hands not the inside of people's wrists.

2) No organized lines for the rides just a fence around the ride with a gate.  So all the kids crowd around the gate anxious to get in.  (Much nicer when there aren't many kids there but difficult when lots of people are there.)

3) Knock-off Disney character ride.   Ah, yes, Mexico is the place for illegal copies of things.  A. was excited to go in "Donald Duck" for a ride.

4) Still not sure if this place has it's own parking lot.  (I've taxied there but haven't seen the parking lot if there is one.)  I need to drive there, taking a taxi is a rip off.

Fun times.  We hit the jackpot.  We bought a kiddie pass a month ago and they gave us a free upgraded pass to use in the next month.  So we went again and used our free passes and enjoyed the perfect weather.
